What is Bites of Bio?
We take the science seriously, and the jargon out.
Our mission
Bites of Bio exists because great science deserves great communication. Every week, researchers publish findings that could change how we understand disease, treat illness, or live longer and healthier lives. Most never reach the people who need them, not because the science is too complex, but because nobody translated it.
We translate it. Our team reads the primary literature: the actual journal papers, the FDA dockets, the clinical trial results, and distils each into a short, honest bite: what was studied, what was found, what it means for you, and where to read more. We cite every source. We flag uncertainty. We never overstate.
Bites of Bio is built for scientists who want to read outside their specialty, clinicians who want a fast brief on adjacent fields, patients who want to understand their own biology, and anyone curious about how life works.
What we value
🔬 Evidence first. Every claim links to a primary source: a peer-reviewed paper, an FDA document, or an institutional resource. No extrapolation, no hype.
✂️ Ruthlessly clear. We cut jargon, not accuracy. If a term is necessary, we define it. If it isn’t, it’s gone.
⚖️ Honest about limits. We distinguish a preliminary finding from established consensus. We say “suggests” when the evidence suggests, and “shows” when it shows.
🔓 Open and free. Bites of Bio is free to read, and the contact page is always open. Good science communication should be accessible to everyone.
